# Summer 1217
## Welcome at the Covenant (Session 1. 5 February 2020)
New magi arrive at Elk's Run in May 1217, and the characters are
introduced.
### Characters

**Others** Oswald, Lugardis, Igenous Drake, Mother Ea,
librarian, maids, etc.
## A Trip to Limerick (Session 3. 12 February 2020)
The group stayed at Karl's inn near St Lazare's church in Limerick.
They found that their trade contact, Harold, had died some weeks previous,
and that he had left his business to the Church, with Father Fulke in
charge. The father did not want to honour the agreements made with the
previos owner, although Kevin did his best to argue that the agreement
was with the business and not with its owner.
While they were arguing with the priest a `troll' emerged from the sea,
attacked the group, and fled through a narrow street and into the woods.
The valiant fighting gained the groupe great respect among the townsfolk.
Father Fulke would still not budge, but they got the name of Noriss
Clayton, a struggling merchant who might be forthcoming.

## Limerick Part II. The Widow (Session 3. 26 February 2020)
**Characters** as above
The characters met Elaine, Harold's widow, who is very poor.
She has been left a decent townhouse, but not any income to
support herself and the daughter.
With the help of some magic, Una and Vivianus find that Harold's
will has been forged, with Harold's signature forged by Father Fulke.
Sidney, the Bondsman, does not admit anything, but he is obviously
distressed.
The characters are quite generous with Elaine, and consider recruiting
her as a scribe in the covenant or as an agent in town.
## Advancement (Summer 1217)
**Cieran** reads Herbam (21xp raising score to 6)
Four confidence points and
10xp to everyone taking part in Limerick.
**Una** and **Vivianus** earn their 3p vis for the work
for the covenant in Limerick
# Autumn 1217 (TBC)
## Cattle drove (Session 4. 5 March 2020)
**PCs** Dermot, Bran, Éogan
The clan droves cattle down to Limerick. Ua Cathail does the same, and both clans decide to raid the other. Dermot kills one of the Cathail guards and disrupts their raid. The result is a net gain of about 20 cows, or £5 when they are sold.
## Advancement (Autumn 1217)
**Cieran** reads Mentem (16xp raising score to 5)
**Vivianus** sets up his lab and earns 3p vis.
**Lucas** trains grogs and earns 3p vis.
**Dermot** gains 7xp and 1 confidence point
**Bran** and **Eogan** earn 7xp each.
## Library Development 1217
The bookbinder and the illuminator are busy setting up the labs for Marcus and Lucas in the Autumn, after an off-season in the Summer. The chief librarian copies *Fundamental Fast Casting* by Kallias of Tremere, resulting in a Q12 copy.
The magi learn that the library is short-staffed, and cannot meet requests to copy books for trade at the moment. An elderly scribe had to retire last year, and the last apprentice they trained had to take over the accounts for the mining operation. There is another apprentice in training, but he wont be doing a full job for another year or two.
## Other Improvements 1217
Kevin sets up a merchant business which makes a small source of income.
# Winter 1218
The Winter passes without events, and the magi can pursue their own
interests.
**Marcus** enchants Abluere Magica ReHe(An) 15 as a service to the covenant.
He earns 3p Creo vis plus the 2p Herbam he spends in the ecnhantment.
The Abluere replaces a washer woman, saving a servant.
(Lab total = Re 5 + Aura 5 + MT 7 + He(An) 0 = 17)

To my sodales everywhere, greetings.
It has always been my firm belief that magi of our Order of Hermes should seek to serve the mundane population rather than dominate it. We of the Rusticani already, as a group, hold this belief but I see few others doing so. Our Gift is a blessing from God and is a rare thing indeed. Surely the Lord gave us our ability to learn power to support his people on Earth. We Rusticani work within mundane communities to make our powers available to the betterment of those same communities and as such respect the very reason the Gift was given us. However, unless our Gift is a gentle one we, like most of our sodales, cause distrust and fear among those we dwell. This leads to the covenant system, where most magi shut themselves off from the world and interact only with those few who can eventually accept their Gift without fear.
My intention is to create a new grouping I call the Servants of the People with the intent that we as an Order may better interact within the world’s societies. I have spent many decades creating the basics of this new mystery and call on any who would seek the same goals to come meet me at my tower at the junction of the Shannon and Suck rivers, south of the monastery of Clonmacnoise. You must arrive at the Spring Equinox to ensure easy entry to the regio in which I reside.
Come join me on this new venture to integrate our fine Order to the service of the societies we have for so long shunned.
