Dear Henning,

I am deeply sorry that our previous meetings have not ended on the best of terms, and I am writing in the hope it is impossible to repair these relations and come to some understanding.

My own situation has changed a lot in the last year. I have now been able to settle in Lübeck and make a business as a Jeweller. You may have seen some of my work, which has been well received in the market. This means that I am now able to provide for a family of my own.

It has come to my attention that Ilse is not currently residing in Lübeck.
She was sent away, but never reached her destination at the nunnery.
Through deceit and dark powers, she was abducted by an Evil man.
I was able to rescue her, and she has gone into hiding at her own volition,
in fear of her life.

Now our greatest wish, hers and mine, is to join in holy matrimony.
As I hae explained above, I now have the means both to protect her and
provide for her, and I kindly ask for a meeting to ask for her hand.

Yours truthfully,
*Andreas Jerbiton*,
Lübeck on the first day of November AD 1220
