title: Oculus Outpost Chapter House
---

# Location

The main site of the covenant is in a [Regio](), which
is reached through a large tree on Fågelön (Bird Island).
The islands is ruled by a White Peacock called Argus, with
whom they have a rental agreement.

## Fågelön

+ [Very early notes on the island](/Location/Bird Island)

At the Eastern end of the island, there is a landing
where the covenant is able to dock a boat or two,
which they use for trade trips to Stockholm and elsewhere.
It is large enough to moor the Halcyon as well.

The big tree, at the heart of the covenant, is ten minutes
walk, on the Western half of the island.
The path is now well trodden, but goes partly through dense
forest, which quickly grows over it in the Summer.

Around the tree a village has formed to house the teamsters and
most of the grogs. The village is well defended by the ten
crossbowmen employed by the covenant.

^1^ Discussion point: how does one become 'native' to a regio?

# Other

The motherhouse supplies the necessary mundane resources, but claim a tithe of Vis in return. Vis should be plentiful in the North, though. The motherhouse should also be happy to trade more resources (books, lab texts, possibly items) for additional vis.

+ Silver. Sponsored by the mother covenant or local trade branch thereof.
    - Typical source.
    - £100+ stock.
+ Rich vis sources - owe tithe to the motherhouse.
+ Maybe 40p/year, with the motherhouse claiming 25%. (George's minimal proposal.)
+ Zero vis stock.
+ Meagre library, but opportunity to buy from the Mother Covenant for vis.
+ PCs can copy, for free, from the mother library before they leave.
+ Only specialists created as grogs.
+ No magic items.

# Income Sources

1. *Mining* £100.
This is the chapter houses own establishment, to be built up over a couple of years.
It does not yet provide income.
2. *Trade Post* £100.
This is linked to the mother covenant's trade network, and they have relocated Luthold from
Kalmar to manage it. The covenant is secured a very stable income of £100 per year,
in exchange for protection and the vis tax they pay.
