Basilus embarks on a quest provoked by his parens. He brings Angelbart as his shield grog. Andreas joins too, with Lerke as a shield grog, and Werner.

They returned to Öland to investigate the old fort-like ruins there. Angela, Basilus’ beloved rival, had been there before them. They found the witch unconscious.

The witch is called Gerda.
