Character Questions
What is his most guilty secret? He actually dislikes violence, even if he is built for it.
What is he most afraid of? Being left completely alone as a freak, without anybody that loves him.
If he were an animal, what animal would it be? A bear, no doubt about that.
What does he know about her birth family? Nothing, but the frozen wastelands call to him and he knows that he clearly is not fully human.
Has he ever killed a person? How did it happen? He has killed so many men that he has started forgetting some of their faces… or even the reason why he killed them in the first place. That makes him feel guilty.
Which of the cardinal sins does he tend towards (see RoP:I p21)? Gluttony, if you take his love for wine into account.
Background
Magnus was found as a child during winter alone and naked near the Uddjaur lake. It was a miracle (not really) that he had not frozen to death.
He was raised by a normal family that soon moved south to Uppsala. It was soon obvious that the child was not normal, because at age 10 he was big and strong as a grown up man.
His family grew afraid of him and at age 14 he left his home and had to look for a way of living. What he regretted more was to abandon the hunting dogs his father raised and trained (as a job).
Magnus’ size and strength made it easy for him to best most other men in a fight, and that was good coin to spend on whores and booze, and therefore he turned his life to a path of violence.
He catched the eye of a noble house that hired him as bodyguard. He received training, lodging, coin and a measure of respect… but he had to maim and kill many a man in exchange for all that.
After more than 15 years of that life he grew tired and jaded of so many violence, but not being able to fit very well socially and without other contacts or skills it was difficult for him to make a living. Also, his past kept hitting him back… in order to escape from it as much as possible, he went to Lubeck were an offer to work for some… special… erudites was made to him.
