Initiations of Clan Iltefu

Ritual of Twelve Years

The most important function of the clan, one that the entire house depends on, is the initiation of the Heartbeast. Without this knowledge the house would cease to be. Thus it is the most important rite for young Iltefu magi to learn.

Footnotes

  1. Peacocks are native to the Indian subcontinent. The Romans farmed them for meat but they are not likely to have survived the dark ages in Europe, except maybe the extreme south-east - Peacocks might exist in Constantinople.
Here is what is written about the Peacock in a number of medieval bestiaries. http://www.bestiary.ca/beasts/beast257.htm
