Clan Iltefu
Clan Iltefu is the keeper of the House mysteries, as such each member of the clan is expected to learn all the house rituals, so that they may perform the initiations for other members of the house. Once the mystagogue has mastered the House mysteries, he will be instructed in the Clan mysteries. A Mystagogue often learns the rituals while undergoing initiation himself, however, it is not necessary to undergo the initiations to be able to perform them. The process of initiating others is much easier if the mystagogue has already been initiated.

The Mystery of the Heartbeast (House)
The most important function of the clan - one that the entire house depends on - is the initiation of the Heartbeast in all Bjornaer apprentices. Without this knowledge the house would cease to be. Thus it is vital for the continuity of the house that young Iltefu magi are taught this rite as soon as possible.
